2023 Social Security Benefits Payment Schedule
The United States Social Security Administration (SSA) has released the Social Security benefits payment schedule for 2023. When a person receives their payment depends on a few factors, most notably the person’s date of birth.
When To Expect Your Payment
If your birth-date falls on the 1st – 10th day of the month, benefits are paid on the 2nd Wednesday.
If your birth-date falls on the 11th – 20th day of the month, benefits are paid on the 3rd Wednesday.
If your birth-date falls on the 21st – 31st day of the month, benefits are paid on the 4th Wednesday.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you will receive your payment on the 1st of each month. The exception to this rule is when the 1st of the month falls on a weekend or holiday. In these cases, you will receive your payment on the preceding Friday.
Beneficiaries Receiving Benefits Prior to May 1997 or Receiving Both Social Security and SSI Payments
For beneficiaries that started receiving benefits before May 1997 and individuals receiving both Social Security benefits and SSI, payments will be made on the 3rd of each month. If the 3rd falls on a weekend or holiday, payment will be made on the preceding Friday.
If you do not receive your payment on the specified day or date you were expecting, the Social Security Administration asks that you wait three mailing days before contacting them to find out where your payment is.
