Veterans Disability for Vietnam Vets
Veterans Disability
Vietnam Veterans may see new medical conditions added to the Agent Orange Presumption Act. Currently the VA presumes that certain medical conditions were caused by Agent Orange and thus entitle Vietnam Veterans to disability compensation. Common medical conditions on this list include various forms of cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. Click here for the full list.
Recently, VA Secretary David J. Shulkin announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting research to add various inflammatory diseases, hypertension, and additional forms of cancer to the Agent Orange presumption list. Notably, Vets can receive benefits for conditions that are secondary to medical conditions on the Agent Orange presumption list. Thus, if hypertension is added to the presumption list many of the medical conditions caused by hypertension could also be considered service connected for Vietnam Veterans.
Vietnam Veterans are advised to regularly check the growing list of conditions on the Agent Orange presumption list. If you have one of these conditions, you should contact your local Veterans Service Commission about filing a claim. If you are denied compensation and would like legal help for Veterans Disability for Vietnam Veterans, please feel free to call us for free consultation.
